Vertical sundial on the south wall of the church. The sundial contains an inscription "Anno domini MMXII".
The church was probably built in the second half of the 13th century, after the older church was destroyed most likely during the Tatar invasion in 1242. The church is mentioned in the lists of parishes in Zagreb dioceses of 1334, 1501, 1507, and 1513. In the 18th century, the church was extended in the Baroque style, and a little later the chapel of the Sorrowful Mother of God was added on the south side. Below the church is a crypt. The church vaults were painted with a fresco painted in 1885 by the Zagreb painter Marko Antonini, but, unfortunately, in 1912 they were poorly and unprofessionally restored. The church consists of a nave and a shrine. The sanctuary with its elegant stepped buttresses on the exterior reveals the features of 15th century architecture. It's assumed that in the 1970s, during the renovation, all the older plaster was removed. In 2010, a complete renovation began, which was completed. During 2012, a sundial was added to the chapel. On photographs from Google StreetView from August 2011, only the gnomon is visible.
