Vertical sundial on the facade of the monastery of St. Mary. The sundial was made by Dragutin Antun Parčić (Vrbnik, May 26, 1832 - Rome, December 25, 1902), versatile Croatian Glagolitic writer, lexicographer, philologist and photographer. Parčić also made the sundial of the Franciscan monastery in Krk, and is probably the author of the first astrophotography in Croatia (partial solar eclipse recorded from Zadar, December 31, 1861).
